There was one that was attending last year....I think he graduated....he is now in Mass....you would find him there!

i wanna go into fisheries biology and cant find many schools with it. unity seems like the best school for me at this time.

I went there for a couple years.  It is a great school, I went hunting or fishing at least twice a week.  Just wish i got school credit for it.  Plenty of ducks, deer, birds, and fish in the area.

Thats why I only spent a week there. Financial aid fell through! I still get up there and deer hunt from time to time though.

Well i had a full paid scholarship there for 4 years and i blew it....I was there for only 1 month 33 days to be exact...If only i had it to do over again...I was in the program called CCCM..Colledge Conservation Core of Maine...Had a blast with that program..  For 5 months.We built hiking trails all over Maine and did one that was 7 miles long on the banks of Cutler and Lubec...But as a young guy fresh off the farm life I wasn't prepared for the Real world (Drugs Induced Alcohol so on) and that was my down fall Didn't know how to do a even balance sorta speak...Well theres my story hope you guys do it right and realize why you are there and what a good colledge it is....(Even though theres nothing really to do there) So go fishing....GL to ya...(PS I was studying to be a game warden/ Forestry program...and now I'm a Sub contractor Painter...Think really hard before you go and do something stupid)  Take care

My cousin actually graduated there after 4 years in marine Biology than straight from there he went into the service...

Joser did go there, not UMO.  He's on the Mass board.

For whoever said they wished they got credit for hunting and fishing while there, Joser and his buddies designed an independent study, and that is just what they did last year ~ got credit for ice fishing

I'm a grad student at Orono, and the Wildlife Ecology department is a option for going into either wildlife or fisheries.  Most of the concepts in wildlife and fisheries are similar or even the same...my undergrad degree wasn't at Orono, but it was in Natural Resources (which covered some fish, some wildlife, some forest, etc).  I have already had multiple jobs in fisheries and am now doing my Master's in fisheries. 

We also have a club that is comprised of fisheries students and those who like to fish.

I don't know much about Unity.

Yup there are pictures of a handful of dead animals in front of the sign to get the stranger folk from the school fired up and it is very true that I made an independent study for ice fishing. Much better option than basket weaving!

Damn I thought I had the best self designed major. Ice fishing! That is awesome. Makes me want to go back to college...buying bait instead of books. Wow

I went there.... And partied/fished/and hunted more than I did any schoolwork only made it 1 semester. It was a hell of a time, and I still am good friends with many of the people I met up there.  If you can concentrate on your schoolwork you'll be ok, otherwise beware................ . I'm headed up that way next week.

Played lacrosse against Unity in college.  Seems to me a local farmers cow was hung up one night.  The local pizza joint was closed.  This was back in 93-94.

Don't want to get anybody upset but there aren't a whole lot of brookies left in that pond to catch. I caught a total of maybe 4 brookies out of there in 4 years. The browns though are a completely different story!
