yep it's a carry handle. same with no case on it. a trick i use is to run the battery cables under the velcro strap so lifting from the pouch/hard handle won't pull any wires off the battery. just put your hand in the pocket and feel for the handle. it's like a glove is all and keeps the snow and water out.

the lx6 used to have that carry handle, but this season they used the lx5 shuttle so there is no more hard carry handle on the lx6(S). they felt that the shuttle was too big and they were using the lx7/9 shuttle for that unit.

yep, I put the power wires under the velcro to secure them from moving at all, I'm gonna add some velcro to the handle pocket and make it a storage pocket for the camera fin and other small items... I'm also going to sewn in a velcro strip across the entire plastic caddy securing it from tipping out of the case when hole hopping...Thanks for the answers!
