Cascade Almost Ready
« on: Dec 27, 2008, 01:00 PM »
Just returned from 10 days in Florida.  Caught a bunch of sea trout and a few others in the gulf.  Quite the weather to come back to.  Here in Middleton there are places where the snow is deep enough my tractor won't go through.

According to my best source, the ice is about 3 inches at Cascade, around 5 at Horse Thief.  There is quitea bit of snow.  Hopefully, I will make a trip there after the 1st.
Anyone been to Horse Thief yet?

Went up Wednesday the 7th of January.  Fished by the dam, then the south end, then off the bridge as a last resort.  Nothing.  We were the first on the ice to check it - approximately 10 inches deep everywhere we checked.  One group got 1 Coho and one man got 1 trout.  It was raining all day and quite nasty.  Anyboty else?

Fished Horesthief on Saturday about a foot of ice. A couple of trout and that was it. Shrimp worked the best. We are going to try Cascade on Sunday. :-\

The road in is plowed all the way to the dam. There is a parking area at the dam and its about a 10 yard walk to the ice. Had our best action straight out from the parking area about 10 to 20 yards.
