Going to use my 859 as a locator this year, ordered the ice transducer but looking for ideas as what to mount it to. Anything any body has made they could share or bought bases to mount to? Preferable not wanting to buy genz box for $30. Thanks

My solution to the pollution. I like to elevate my finder. I don't like bending over to read it or fishing on my knees. Who don't have a five gallon bucket laying around ? Couple metal or wood strips up the inside of the bucket aluminum best. Bang your in business not only more economical but more user friendly as in geek speak.

Thanks for the reply! Ended up getting a cheap ammo can and mounting the battery inside and unit on top. Only thing left now is a simple cup type holder on outside for transducer to sit in for travel!
