I believe there is some type of pan fish derby on bomoseen this Sunday....

But, it might be tied in with a seminar being given at the Edge Water motel....

The seminar is Saturday and the derby is Sunday on Lake Champlain
Larabees boat launch. The rules are there are no rules. Not really! It will be an individual event and the species will be Crappies and Bluegills/Sunnies. 3 of each. Biggest 3 Crappies wins a prize as well as biggest 3 sunnies/bluegills, There will be a grand prize for overall heaviest combined weight.
All fish have to be in a bucket with water. No frozen or discolored fish will be accepted.
This event will see a 90% payout of all registration fees. 10% will go into the NETS youth fund.
The boundaries will be from Crown Point to Benson Landing in the town of Benson,VT. Everyone must check in before the start of the event and start from the designated launch point.
The use of ATVS, snowmachines will be at the discretion of the tournament directors. In the event that ice conditions will not support these vehicles, it will then become a walk out event.
Start time is 8am. End time is 2pm. The field will be cut loose from the launch at 7:00 am and competitors can drill their holes but cannot put a line in the water until 8am. This will be an honor system. Again in the event of unsafe ice we may impose boundaries and have observers.

Well this should be intersting  you can't transport live fish off bodies of water in the state of Vermont  so they better have the weigh-in  out on the ice or they will be breaking the law....  Kind of technical but that's they way its written  but seem no different than what we do at bass tournaments so maybe that is covered in the tournament permit issued by the state hmm  anyone know this for sure..
