Storm Lake Walleye
« on: Jan 03, 2018, 04:02 AM »
Hey everyone. I was just looking for an update on the fishing over in Storm Lake. I used to work on the dredge and I know there are some great walleyes in there, but how is the fishing in the winter

It's been good the last couple years.  Contact Josh at Gone Fish'n, he will hook you up with all the bait and info you need.

I was wondering about ice conditions on the lake. Heard there was some open water on the 28th of Dec......thinking with the temps we have had since it should all be froze up with 5+ in in all areas.........which is what I'd be comfortable with driving my wheeler on.

There are a few spots that were open with less. Best bet is to talk to Josh at Gone Fishin, he has very good info on ice thickness.

Hey everyone,
I went there yesterday and the lake has a good 12" of ice by south cove out to the dredge cut. I was disappointed though. I marked a lot of fish with no biters. Using spoons and rattle flyers with a minnow head.

X2

Most of our eyes were either small or in the slot, but found some nice crappie today.
