Shaker Bog near Poland

Was headed up 26 on Saturday and there were a lot of vehicles pulled over by the access to Shaker Bog. I'm guessing they were all ice fishing there since Middle Range was clearly unsafe by the causeway and might have been the only safe ice around.  Looks really shallow on Google Maps and don't see that it gets stocked with trout.  People just desperate to get out and catch some pickerel and perch?

It was all people ice skating. Lots of small crappie and big shiners in there. I’ve yet to catch a single fish through the ice there though. Only ever had luck in summer.

Hey Bee. Tons of 3” crappie. And most springs there is a huge die off in there. Found one 13” dead on shore one time.

Just to many not enough food. one yellow perch lays avearge 23000 eggs,  So when fishermen catch small perch  white and yellow they should keep small ones and fillet them or feed the eagles.

I've fished it in the summer with no luck. Right by the road its 8-10 feet but the rest is less than 4 feet in most places. Had to get out and push the canoe during duck season as the water was so low.
