Rat finkees have worked really well for me in the past.  Tip it with either a minnow head or a waxie and you are set.

I have had luck using a glow teardrop jig tipped with a small minnow.  With waxworms and spikes, the ratfinkee is your best bet.

When I was a meat user I'd use what the other fella's here mentioned.
Now I'll use a small hair jig and no meat.
I'm also lifting the fish I'll see on my flasher.
A spring bobber works great to see the hit.

A Northland Forage minnow. Using the Vex and teasing them up to hit it. Usually seems to produce bigger fish for me right around dusk  :)

Ratso's....they really love that tail!  Can use with/without meat! I always try without first and if no luck...
add meat.

i like the #10 red fatboy a lot myself...last Year I caught a lot of them down your way on a pink/gold hali with a fathead or chunk bait on the hook.

Horizontal jigs seem to produce better for me. If your using shiners on tilts, after a catch use a piece of the dead shiner if you can.

All right where do you get these Jigs "Rat finkees"  or the #10 Red Fat Boy
Only in the U.P.  (You can take man out of the U.P. but can't take the U.P. out of the Man)

Arnold Moxy or Fairy jigs, various colors, tipped with waxies!
The fishing is always great, the catching however, always isn't
