What sucks about toga? Can be challenging but with good sized perch and quite a few walleye. Plus the bass and pickeral that some people enjoy fishing just for fun I wouldn't say sucks.

Adam,

I might be wrong but I think he is just being sarcastic. That thing I do here a lot lol

Lots of nice walleye in that lake. I have became a believer recently as you saw on FB.

Do you have to buy one of those $8 tickets when you park at the state launch.. I asked one of the cops in the summer and he said any time you park there you have to purchase a ticket.

Or if you have one use the Empire state park pass. Leave it in your windshield

I do have one,but their might be people that don't know you have to purchase one of these tickets in the winter! I think you have to be 62 to get a free pass for Saratoga lake and only good Monday through Friday and not on Holidays.

the ticket machine is either wrapped up for the winter or taken down   no need to worry about paying to park

Togas not bad and it’s close only half hour for me but if I’m going perching I’ll wait for the king and haven’t tried for the eyes too busy laker fishing 🤦‍♂️ Just like every other body of water if you put your time in eventually you will find them

Can wait for the king for perch but is too busy laker fishing to fish for eyes?

Is this a riddle?

And the award goes to the brave soul who put up a shelter (seen Tuesday) behind the (closed) Lake Local tavern by the bridge.  Much of the lake has opened up, but the south end has some ice and I saw a couple kids playing hockey around the edge a little north of Brown's yesterday.

I'd be very interested if you found safe ice... was directly across the lake from Brown's on Sunday and it was wide open with white caps... the bay might have stayed safe..... but I'd spud and spud often even after this cold snap.

If anyone checks the ice before Saturday please report back the thickness is so. I know just off of Browns was forming up nicely but I haven’t been past Fitch rd area in a couple weeks

There’s about 5 inches near browns on the south side. Didn’t see anyone having much action including myself.

Is it locked up going towards snake hill or still open water

Entire lake is mostly locked up with a few open water pockets that will probably lock up tonight. If you go out be careful on the new ice. One hit with the spud and it was through this morning on the new ice.
