Went fishing and checked the ice and the edges were good and had between 8 and 5 inches of solid ice. A couple of inches of snow on top which got rather slushy as the day went on. Headed for one of the coves and saw another fisherman there. I set up a polite distance away and he decided to leave since the action was slow. Long story short the conditions were very good but the fish didn't cooperate. Not sure how sloppy the ice will get with the temps this week but at least today the ice was safe. If we make it through the week I will be surprised.
