mauch chunk lake

Checked the lake for ice at 12 o'clock today ,the lake is frozen ,maybe a inch or so.... checked boat launch B....

Most will melt away with this warm up coming.  Probably won't see safe ice up there till after New Years :-\

your right.i been ice fishing for going on 50 years now..I don't get out like i use to but it seems like the second week of Jan for guys that fish below route 80 is when we start getting safe ice....

Yea that's pretty accurate.  Once in a long while you'll get some ice at the end of December but I don't remember the last time.

Two years ago. We had safe ice in SEPA between Christmas and New Years only to watch it melt shortly after. We had a great cold spell in December and then no real cold to keep the lakes safe; at least in SE region. Hang in there and pray for cold it will lock up and be good in a another week or two.
