I'll probably be on Promised Land Upper or Lower lake on 12/8 if the forecast holds. I'll start another thread for anybody that wants to join in on the fun. I'll bring my grill and some hotdogs or something. Gotta celebrate the start of the season!

I saw the same forecast yesterday and thought the same thing. We might beat my mid December guess by a week.

It's looking like a lousy forecast here in State College.  My December 14 guess for first ice isn't looking good.

What’s this predicted weather tomorrow and Monday going to do for ice conditions in the next week or two?

I will be out on Pymatuning today... no ice yet sadly. But I have the flasher and an ice rod in the boat to kill the itch. Going to find a nice spot and jig off the side. I hate to say it but it doesn’t look good for the next few weeks for ice. I hope to be on for Christmas... but I think it’s going to be another late year

Sorry, I should have clarified in my post. I was talking about NEPA. The temps are right, but we’re getting a decent snowstorm Sunday into Monday night.

Not gonna do much except make road conditions sloppy and give us some shoveling to do. Maybe cool down the lakes a bit more.... Make tracking deer easier.... Blood trailing... About it.

So is there nothing locked up even with skim ice yet? Was hoping to get up there in 2 weeks near the Wallenpaupack area. Am I getting ahead of myself with that?

My guess is someone will likely be on top by next weekend though I doubt it will be the 4" I am waiting for. That's at elevation and if the forecast doesn't change radically.
