New Jigging Shad Raps??
« on: Oct 28, 2004, 11:21 PM »
Amyone seen any in person, or have any specs??  I have read the tiny bit on Rapala's website, and it gives a 2" size, if I remember correctly, and it says they are cast of a lighter metal from lead.   I haven't tried the Nils Shads, but have had good luck with both brands minnow jiggers.  I think the lighter weight of the Jigging Shad raps will be nice, the 2 large Nils Shads I have are 7/8 oz.  Anyone???

I picked up two of them - I'm very impressed.  They are cast from zinc, I think, with a coated shell of some sort.  Great profile, and nice light weight - should fall much slower than the jigging shad from Nils.  I like the size too - for the ultra clear lakes of northern Wisconsin, it should be a perfect match to young of the year perch, as well as baitfish.  Big thumbs up for me!

All I have tried so far are the regular jigging raps. I am going to try the nils master jiggers and shads, the chubby darters and also these new jigging shad raps to see what the difference might be. They would work well for walleyes around here that feed on small bluegill and sunfish.
