eskimo ion vs gas blades

i notice the blades for the ion have no teeth or notches in them like the gas auger blades. anyone know why? will they interchange and if not which system is better?

The ion has smooth blades like a hand auger has. Probably helps with making it shave the ice easy. Gas augers have more powe and can use the groved blades or a chipping blade. I believe it’s just a more aggressive blade chipping blades workgoodn if your always hitting sand pockets and stuff like that.
