Presque Isle/ Boulder Junction

Hello,

Me and my son will be in the Presque Isle / Boulder Junction area the week of New Years and wondering if anyone can help us out on finding some panfish. We will be catch and release and just looking to get on some steady action, they don't need to be hogs just catching some fish.. We ice fish 3 to 4 times a week in the Polk, Burnett Washburn County areas so if anyone wants to swap info please let me know. Thank you and any pointers are appreciated!

Basser,

I’m not an expert in that area, but have considered poking around up there for panfish lakes.  Little John is a name that pops up often for pannies, open or hard water, and the community spot a little south of there is Big Arbor Vitae.  Should have good ice, and little snow to trudge through, so there is plenty to explore.  Check with bait shops in Minocqua (Dewey Catchem or Kurts) and they should be able to give you a general area to search.  Good luck and let us know if you got into some.
