Spud Bar Alteration
« on: Dec 28, 2020, 01:01 PM »
Last year I thought I'd play the game a little smarter and I bought a spud bar.  Not wanting to spend a ton on one, I ended up buying and Eskimo Redneck Economy Ice chisel.  Well it had a steep bevel and very little penetration into the ice.  So, I looked at the heads if other bars/chisels and took the angle grinder to it this year.  The little bit of ice I've been able to hit with it, cut very well.  I hosted it down with Rust-oleum and hope to get  better chance to test it out this winter.

I went really cheap on my spud bar.  Took a 6' section of black pipe I had laying around, bought a masonry chisel, and had a friend weld it inside the pipe.  Then I spray painted the whole thing Red.  Haven't had a chance to test it though yet.
