I would not be surprised to see them work. This pond I manage for friend of the family. Has huge gills in it but is overrun with y.o.y. gills. Thousands of them running the shoreline. So I trap them and use to stock other ponds that are new or suffer from not enough fish.
Anyway while waiting for the traps to work. I fish and use some of the gills as bait. Some of you would be amazed at the size of gills that clobber their own kind. Here is what I caught so far in this pond on small bluegills. Channel catfish , largemouth bass, crappie , yellow perch and bluegill. I think other than two huge grass carp are the only species in this pond. The yellow perch I introduced to help control the bluegill population.
So this bait should work well. I base my opinion on other small rip baits performance that I use. The flatt shad, slab raps, rippin raps , z-vibe etc. Will probably order a few of these myself to test.
