Wow Bart,  I'm impressed with your PVC Pipe work!   ;D
You ARE the "PVC PipeMaster"
Are you SURE it's safe to walk on? Looks questionable to me!

I built this sled for those days when I don't want to haul my portable shanty out, but just needed a windbreak and a heater

The goal was to make it as light as possible so I built it out of 1/4" Luan, with spruce 1/2 " 1" framing.  Even though it rides on 2 downhills ski's, it's also sloped like a toboggan so it will ride up on top of deeper snow.   These pics show it with just a rope attached, but I also have a detachable metal hitch I use with the snowmobile.
I wanted to be able to stow everything inside and tie down my auger so I can zip across the ice without worrying about losing anything.

The sunflower heater sits down inside the main compartment with the tank resting horizontally in a cradle, and is perfect for keeping the seat and hands warm, and also for cooking on.     Before anyone asks... Yes it IS safe with the heater, and the sides don't get hot enough at all.  (I'm never very far from it anyway)

The poles holding the windbreak are PVC pipe, carefully glued in sections so it's easy to assemble and all comes apart to fit inside.   I sewed up the fabric for the windbreak using a water resistant ripstop nylon fabric, but now wish I would have gone with something a little heavier.

Yeah, good point!  I decided to rename the pic, so hopefully it won't show up any longer.

I don't use this, but thought it should follow Out4Trout's post....

I currently use a JetSled XL, but maybe when it wears out, I'll use the "factory" sled.

very simple, and only bring it with little to no snow. Pulls like rock.

but very comfy when set up.
If you consider it a sport to gather your food by drilling through 36 inches of ice and sitting there all day hoping that the food will swim by, you might live in northern New York

I want to build one to pull behind my sled, if you pull the with the attached skis they get mangled!! Let me know how you make out.

I have a 2 man set up style hut, I fold about 100lbs of gear in there and it is harder then hel* to pull if there is even a little bit of snow on the ice, and if there is slush forget about it. anyideas of how I can make the pull with a little more ease?
