Are the docks still in?  Seems a tad bit chilly to be out in the boat. ;)

Yep I'd imagine the pigs are strapping on the feedbag over there.  They are in the river at least and the big ones are just getting ready to play.  I might try and make it over to the pond one last time but its hard to pry yourself away from a limit of river eyes. ;)

There was some people out yesterday but no reports.  I would guess that the Yellows can be caught they just need to be found first.  I would start 6 -7 fow

Was fishing on the little lake. Top inch was milky but the rest was good.  I didnt measure it but there was more than enough for foot traffic im guessing it was around 5.  Should have 6 at least now.  Gonna bring the wheeler out this weekend I'm thinking.  Stay safe out there guys.

Sorry for such a noob question, but I've never fished CL before. I'm gonna be headed from Des Moines, where is the "Small Lake" at or where is the best place for the safest ice out there right now? I just want to make sure I'm driving to the right side of the lake.....or is the whole lake locked up right now with 5-6 inches?

Little lake is on the west side of Clear Lake.  Take a look at a lake map before you fish there, they did a ton of dredging and there are some pretty crazy contours there.

I can't speak about the thickness of the rest of the lake as i haven't fished Clear this year.

West end of lake by Ventura is the little lake.  East end of lake im sure you will find 2-4 beings it froze over at a later date.  Heres a link to the maps.  1 has the newly Dredged area.  Theres no noob questions on ice shanty btw :)

So, is it the Ventura marsh that you are considering the little lake? Or just on the East side of that, across the highway. Map is a bit deceiving on whether or not that's all connected. Thanks for the help, I appreciate it.

Marsh is far west on the decieving map that is currently drained.  Mcintosh woods state park is where the landing is located on the little lake.  Find that your golden.

CrappieBuster,  Thanks for the info.  I am also am from the Des Moines area (Madison County) and will be heading up that way as well....I gotta scratch this itch, I can't take it!  I don't want to take your hot spots or anything but do you suggest little lake over the main lake?  Also where is a good place to get bait in Clear Lake?

Any info would be great.
