Anyone fished farmers beach yet? If so how much ice is over that way? I havent been over on that part to check the ice.

I was there yesterday morning till noon. Ice was around 7"-8" with an exception of some 4" in a few spots. Fishing was slow. tried 7-14 fow marked fish all day but they just didn't want what we were throwing at them. Did catch a few yellows and one dink walleye. There was a couple fellas putting a permanent out there.  :)

Where was the 4 inches located at? North east or northwest of the ramp?

Northwest. It was a patch which looked to be one of the last open water spots to freeze up. There's a ridge around it and it looks like a shady spot I think you'll see it.

Braved pure black ice roads to get over there and check it out.  We dodged a bullet boys and girls the lake is virtually free of all snow.  Checked Mcintosh ramp and Farmers Beach ramp both need minor clearing but looks like we should be driving out very soon. Tuesday or Wednesday for sure.

84 Yellows on Friday in just a few hours.  Best fishing in a long time! 4 small eyes.  Most people say they are marking fish.  Well this lake is so full on 2" Yellows and 2" Perch its crazy.  Fish 4 to 7 FOW!

Most were 8 to 9 we had 5 or so that were around 10.  The smaller ones eat better anyways.  This fall we did really well on the big ones.  I hope we can drive Tuesday I need to get the wheel house out of the driveway.  I hate SNOW.

I hope the fishing improves as the winter goes on - I'd like to get a few yellows and a bonus walleye or two. The ice is really 13"? I guess if the wind took most of the snow off, then it's probably pretty decent.

Sweet! Are the fish still biting over there?  Farmers is a skunkfest I'm marking tons of fish but cannot get em to bite.  Have tried everything.  Think its time to move.

How much ice on Farmers?  If you want to catch a lot of Yellows you need to drill a lot of holes.  I would stay 5 to 8 ft.  Farmers should have some fish ready to eat.  The fish your marking are the 2" Yellows I would guess.  We need to get a camera out there to see what they are.  There is a pile of keeper Walleyes in that lake its just finding some that are ready to chew.

The ice was 11 at farmers yesterday. Think its getting about that time to drive out. Some pretty mean looking cracks by shore though.  And my truck is heavier than heck. :-\

Wish I still had my Dakota that was 2200lbs lighter.

This lake is full of 13-15" Walleyes.  I caught a 16" in Oct. and it had 5 - 2" yellows and 2 2"-Perch in its belly.  These fish are not ready to eat with all that food in the lake.

we went out Thursday morning and fished Farmers until around 1.  There were 3 perm. shacks out there. We drilled some holes out in that area and marked them all over.  We managed to only get 2 to bite all morning. The ice was cracking and popping like crazy! There was at least 8 inches everywhere we drilled...probaly more like 10 but didnt measure it exactly. So we bailed out and hit the interstate lake pond on the way home.

Debating whether or not to try Clear Lake tomorrow or go try brushy. Its about the same distance either place. Any suggestions? LOL  Been to skunked at little lake twice already this year and have gotten 2 yellows in our one try at Farmers.
