-
anyone on mission yet,? can you drive on the ice??would like to go out for a day??
-
how is the ice at mission can you drive on??? :) as it is too far to walk from the road. catching any perch?? would like to try one day??
-
hello liteguy. cant help you with mission but I measured the ice on pasqua this morning. was 9 inches. no vehicles driving on only walkers. hope this helps.
-
No info on mission, definatly walkable thoo. Was at pasqua today and was 9-10 inches everywhere we drilled
-
Saw people on at katepwa boat launch but know thickness ???
-
Anyone walking on down here today or yeaterday? On echo, ketepwa, Pasqua, mission... or no ice left? Was on blackstrap by saskatoon yesterday morning and was 13” all over n not soft yet. Was wanting to try out here today.
-
Wanna try here tomorrow 1st thing if doable
-
Katepwa where I tried no luck and 5-6”... Pasqua at Lutherans point 13-14” and hard I’ve... 3 walleye
-
How thick is the ice on echo? Any shacks on the ba-say-tah point?
-
Was shacks on echo and Pasqua... I am not sure how thick echo was but Pasqua is 13-14”
-
Were guys driving on echo & pasqua already?
-
No, never saw a truck anywhere or any tracks.... saw a few shacks that look like they were pulled on by sleds or quads. I would not drive on any lakes with the weather... and always check... ketepwa and Pasqua are 30 min apart and Pasqua had 14” katepwa had 5”... there where a few shacks on Pasqua echo and mission.... never saw a thing on katepwa lake though... with a truck piping through at blackstrap and a few shacks falling through at buffalo pound I would not attemp to drive on any lake till we get a few weeks of -20 at least..... buy a sled and walk out or jus stay home and wait....
-
Thanks for the info, I think I'll wait till after Christmas !!!! Thanks again...
-
pasqua thickness varies. mile east of lutherland was only 9 inches last weekend.
-
Solid 13" - 14" Of Ice On North Side Of Echo Starting To See More & More Shacks I'm Sure By The Holidays & Upcoming Cold Weather She Will Be Drivable No Problem

-
Walked out this morning from Katepwa boat launch. Measured 7.5 inches of ice. No bites but I'm fairly new to the ice fishing game. Nice day for fishing almost no wind today. ;D

Hey fishaint biting... I have fished that lake a few times in the winter and tones in the summer... have had good luck by the point to the left of the ketepwa beach boat launch... but use caution as the points often the last area on the lake to freeze. It has a huge drop off and drops fast. Like 5’-75’ In no time... have had good luck for perch with long skinny spoon style hooks with minnow heads or perch eyes. and big pike there on anything...I was at the point a few weeks back but was only 4-5” so I never caught because I never wanted to push my luck yet near the point....
-
Once it’s solid be mobile around there in 15-25’ of water and you’ll find some... pm me and I could point ya in a spot on mission on Pasqua too. I’ve is much thicker on Pasqua so far.
-
Anyone been out at pasqua today , how's the ice thickness?
-
Solid 15” on echo driving everywhere

-

Do you own the Lake? You expect somebody to stay away when nobody is there?
-
Maybe if treeplucker doesn’t want any one fishing there he shouldn’t tell everyone that there is good fishing there kinda shot himself in the own foot lmfao. Goof
-
Or hunker down a permy.... then it’s always at your spot.
-
Agreed
-
Tried Pasqua today, very slow and only a small Walleye and 1 Tolly. Tried 7-8 spots from Wambach to Luther in 18-42'. Places where catch normally over the years. Hopefully better by weekend.

Thanks
-
Was out at Echo today, fishing was good, 2 of us iced about 30 eyes, only 2 big enough to keep but threw them back, also caught 5 perch, 10-12 inches! Kept the perch for a fish fry!

wouldnt those be tulibee, not whites? or are there whitefish as well in these lakes.
-

I believe they're whites? maybe i am wrong.
-
I believe they're whites? maybe i am wrong.
the way i was taught to distinguish was that Tulibee's lower jaw extends past the upper jaw (under bite). Whitefish have an upper jaw that extends past the lower (over bite).
-
whitefish are bigger too generally, and are harder to catch.
lots of actual whitefish in blackstrap and deifenbaker, and technically its all the same system so i'm sure there are some but for most part for the qu'appelle lakes is probably overwhelming majority tulibee rather than whitefish - that's certainly all i've ever caught there
-
I have also landed many Tulibee or Cisco rather than whites in the quadrille lakes. But I’d say both are running around down there.
-
So slow does anyone on katepwa use a camera are they down there what have you been seeing ? ???
-
Lots of walleye and perch on the camera when i was out last weekend, but only got one Walleye and a ton of Ciscos.
They would come for a look at the bait and not bite.
-
How is the water clarity in the chain lakes? LML hasn't been great so far. Use the camera a lot. Thanks
-
The water clarity is very good, but Katepwa has a lot of what appear to be small freshwater shrimp and when they swim in they cut down the visibility.
-
Heard a bunch a shacks got broken into on the East end of Pasqua! That"s why I leave mine empty and unlocked. You people are losers, get a job and buy your own stuff! That"s the only bad thing about not having much snow, any idiot can drive on the ice!!!

The dickheads that broke in prob won't see your post. Reading isn't one of their strong points.
-
Thinking of driving on at the Katepwa Beach boat launch. I haven't been out since the beginning of January. Is the ice still good for a car?
-
Hi guys. I used to occasionally fish Pasqua many years ago with a buddy who has moved away and recall catching quite a few cisco. I'm one of the few that find them to be kind of fun to catch! Lol. My better half has now decided that she likes to go icefishing (thankfully) but she gets pretty impatient if the action is slow. I'm thinking that trying to get her into some of those cisco might be fun for her. I've never fished Echo before....where would a guy drive on? I'll be coming from Moose Jaw. Thanks!

I usually stick to Pasqua myself but I believe the easiest access to Echo is at the southwest part of the lake, Provincial Park boat launch. Also this video may be of interest to you, a recent video targeting Cisco on Mission Lake. From the video you can get a good idea of where he was set up based on the ski hill in the background. Good Luck.
-
Thanks sitdaddy! Very interesting. I never thought of Mission. Hopefully can get there soon
-
Five hours on pasqua today, a couple of nibbles and no bites. Fished in front of Lutherland. Going to have to find an extension for my strike master soon. I am not interested in hand cranking that much ice for the minimal results i have got so far this year!
-
My shack is on Lutherland. Any break in issues there?

Sorry, can't help you with any info there. We were fishing a pop up.
-
How's the fishing at katepwa?
-
Went out Sunday on Mission at Lebret. Tried may different depths 25-42' and not much success. Did manage to catch 3 Walleye, and released 1 of those. 6 Tollabies (Cisco) in the 35' range, but no Perch. Tried Echo later in 25-35' with no luck.
-
Fished Echo yesterday, 2of us, iced about 20 walleye with only 4 being keepers and 4 nice perch. Lost a lot half way up also! Was a nice day to be out with no wind for a change!
-
Katepwa lions fish derby march 10 reg 730 to 930 katepwa at bar fish 930 to 1230 ;D
-
How much snow stuck on the ice out there guys? Particularly Echo? I am heading down this weekend and am wondering if i need to buy an extension for my auger.
Thanks in Advance.
-
Any access reports for the Mission, Echo, or Pasqua entry's to lakes? Are they snowed in or has there been people opening them?

Any access reports for the Mission, Echo, or Pasqua entry's to lakes? Are they snowed in or has there been people opening them?
i saw a post on FB that the access to Echo on the west end was cleared. there is a path that appears to head north, not sure how far it goes.
if you hear about an ice report and if i need an extension i would appreciate it.
-
I don't understand why the question ''do I need an extension?' is asked repeatedly. This is SK., we get thick ice cover by late winter. Sometimes we need one, sometimes not. The cost of an auger extension is a tiny fraction of ones entire ice fishing equipment and takes up nearly no space. ???
-
I have an ion and need an extention on pasqua and echo. my jiffy gas was ok but it is longer. this was all last Saturday, day before big snow. if you go on at the west end of echo you wont get very far as there is a big ice heave right across the lake. maybe one klick east. should be able to get on pasqua at lutherland. heavily used by everyone.
-
Any ice access at the fort east end of Echo?
-
I tried to get onto Mission this am 9:00 am, got stuck with 4x4, shoveled out then came home.. got on by the bridge ok but 1 trail, to the shacks. 2 other trucks out,but decided to come back..once a 4x4 gets stuck it gets tuff...you can go if you like but not for me..thanks..
-
Has anyone been on Mission by the ski resort lately?? I know the snow is deep.. I just don't want to get stuck..or should I wait awhile ???
-
Has anyone fished Bird's Point on Round Lake lately? Is there any pressure ridges of concern this year? Thinking of going out there this Friday. Any info would be great. Thanks,

fished out there 5 or 6 days over the course of this season. the best day we had was new years eve and its steadily dropped off since then. i haven't been skunked there yet but I've also fished 12 hours for only 1 small walleye. I haven't been out there for a few weeks now so things may have picked up again. No ice heaves on the lake to worry about, however the boat launch has ice that has pushed up on shore making it a bit interesting, but still passable.
-
Took a drive to the valley today. Pasqua,Echo and Mission are pretty locked in with snow. Went on to Echo at the Fort, stopped to chat with a couple of guys. Didn't venture off the main track much, Subaru is good but didn't want to chance a meeting with a deep drift. Wanted to try out the Deeper Pro + I recently purchased. After ten minutes, I'm convinced it will fill the bill. Ion 8x just about bottomed out with the extension on, prob 40 inches of ice. Hope to get out with my new shanty soon, after the guys with the big 4x4 rigs cut some more trails. Thanks guys for the tulibee for my barn cats.
-
anyone going on at lutherland on Pasqua and going west?

-
You can get on from the bridge by ski hill.
Not sure about the Launch at Lebret
-
Thanks a lot really appreciate the info.!!!will try tomorrow .are they biteing at all.?? thanks .
-
yes you can get on by the bridge with truck. and stay on the trails to the other side to the river... you should be ok on the trail
-
If that was Alberta you would have your limit for 8 people
-
anyone been on mission today and how was the trails ??? thanks
