Title: SUPERBOWL
Post by: DeepcreekIcer on Jan 22, 2006, 08:03 AM
Today is the day that the Steelers will spank Denver and go to the Superbowl.  Here we go Steelers, Here we go!  I'll bet there is 100% agreement from all the Ice Shanty members.

I Like them but i think that Denver has a better all around  team!!
Title: Re: SUPERBOWL
Post by: archbishop on Jan 22, 2006, 09:48 AM
denver is going to beat up on pitt. pitt. has had a hard road to get here and denver has been cruising through all these teams. i hope you dont gamble putting all your faith in the steelers. there will be no passing game for pitt. with bailey and lynch cruising around back there, and denver has a much better offence, it will be denver and carolina.

They are all good teams. And since I cant root for the Pats,I will root for Denver and Carolina......I still have guys from those teams on my fantasy league!!!

Just to be the devil's advocate I'm going to say Pitt vs. Seattle.

pre-game has started, and I would love to see Pitt - Carolina in the superbowl.
But, I really don't care only as long as my Superbowl #'s come in so I can collect from the money tree.  ;)  ;D
Title: Re: SUPERBOWL
Post by: archbishop on Jan 22, 2006, 02:11 PM
Much better offense ???

AFC Offense Rankings Pitt 3 Denver 6
Passing Pitt-5 Denver 6
Rushing Pitt-1  Denver 3
Receiving Pitt 2 Denver 6
I will have to give you this one Scoring - Denver 1 (27 pts. per game) Pitt 2 (26 pts. per game)

Pitt Defense Rocks!

Should be a great game!

lol, you play fantasy football dont you ;D look at the division and the schedule differences

lol, like the teams that play SF twice a year has a high scoring average, lol

Is a Steeler a unenployed millworker? Who won the world series? What's the NBA? Is the hockey strike still on? Is it better 2 be a couch potatoe or an outdoorsman?

If you are driving, please have a GPS or something that will not allow you to get lost. Many places here are NOT friendly. I only suggest do not venture very far from the downtown area. Although, I believe the detroit city admin are still trying to figure out how to hide all the homeless, and a lot of those homeless reside in the downtown areas. It will be peculiar to see how the media hypes this towns superficial looks. "You can only paint a garbage can, so many pretty colors", but it still stinks the high heavens of its cancerous blight. And this is quite a plague even in some of the surrounding burbs. OK, enough of my whinning.....can't get on any ice, so I'm still complaining....awwww, somebody call me a Waaaaaa-mbulance.  :cookoo:

So much for that high-powered Denver offense.  It doesn't matter which team the Steelers play now.  There's no stoppin the bus! ;D

lol, they screwed up bad, a fumble called back and another out of bounds and another that pitt. got back, and to top it off three dropped interceptions, lol. its in the cards for the bus.

itll be a blowout if seattle goes, there D cant hang with the steelers.

Post by: vtpike on Jan 23, 2006, 12:19 PM
Some Crazy people out there. You need to give the Seattle offense some major credit. They are tough. Someone mentioned that Cowher is a great coach, what career have you been watching. If Ben didn't make that lucky tackle or if the defense player stayed on the sideline instead of cutting back to the middle Cowher wouldn't have a job right now. Meanwhile look at Mike Holmgren's post season record and RING.

Combine that with a great offensive line and a Pittsburg blitz that creates a one on one with the secondary. Avoid the long haired hippie and it's a long day for the steelers.

Sorry Steelers fans Seattle 34 Pittsburg 17. The bus is braking down and going to stall, good thing the game is in Detroit. They will use the bus as scrap metal for something built ford tough.
Title: Re: SUPERBOWL
Post by: Smeltecca on Jan 23, 2006, 12:48 PM
vtpike, what are you watching Holmgren was the one trying to keep his job this year.  Cowher is the longest tenured coach in the NFL for a reason.  If you want you could "what if" the Texans into the Superbowl.  Football is a game of inches and a tackle is a tackle, shoestring or not!!

lol, they were both trying to keep there jobs, but if you look at careers holmgren is the better coach, just has been away from the spotlight for a while ??? its going to be a good game, hopefully

Post by: vtpike on Jan 23, 2006, 12:56 PM
It must be that your opinion is similiar to that of the other steelers fans in your area. Cowher has all of you mezmorized or something. He is the longest tenyeared coach in the NFL, and yet still no ring. It almost seems that you are content with making the playoffs and then getting the boot. Other markets wouldn't stand for it!

Title: Re: SUPERBOWL
Post by: Mallard on Jan 23, 2006, 04:01 PM
I think this could go either way,

If Seattle gets a 10 point lead early they are going to have to major advantage, it throws Pitts running game off and they cant gamble as much on Defense, giving Hasselback time

BUT

If Pitt can just pound it and play Steelier football and control the games intensity they will win.

Just my 2 cents

cowers job may not have been in "jeopardy" this year but the talk had begun, he was only getting the team so far, year after year but coaches have been fired for less, and your saying seattle is a large market NFL team :o lol, take your own advice about laying off the crack

Not quite....I am another long suffering Seattle fan from CNY. I am just sitting here and enjoying this. I am glad that Pitt is the favorite. The 'Hawks can use the "lack of respect" for motivation.... Seattle has the best offensive line in the game and that is where the game is won.

I just heard that Detroit has been anaxed (spelling) by Pittsburgh.  That means that Detroit is now part of the city of Pittsburgh.   ;D
Seatle will be facing a hostile crowd.  The line is Pitt by 3.5 points but I think it will be more like 10 and that will be after Seatle scores a TD late in the 4th quarter.

HERE WE STEELERS .. HERE WE GO.
