Was thinking of getting some new walleye jigs and things. I know I wanna try some darters, slicky jigs and ratl'n spoons. I fish an alewive populated lake. Def. Gonna get alewive color darter but I was also thinking of getting some glow red ones for the bit of glow, anyone have luck with glow red? I mostly fish wiith half a herring, and was wondering what sizes of all these you guys typically use? Thanks

The little luck I've had has been with larger Rapalas - size 5 & size 7, color doesn't seem to be a big factor but I've been using silver and their chrome/blue. I'm talking daytime, don't know if that would apply to night fishing. Tight lines.

a #3 or #5 rapala in glow perch is my go to walleye lure but I've also done very well with 1/8 or 3/8 ounce buckshot spoon. I tried the slick jig earlier this year and had some success catching some nice perch but the walleye fishing was pretty slow that day, I'm definetely going to try it again this year though

Thanks for the input browning,
Yea buckshot works for me on all other species i just don't know how the rattle will effect walleye. And I figured i'd give the lindy darters a try cause they're cheaper then the salmo ones, and I just like trying new things.
Let me know how those slick jigs work out for you at the end of the season.

got four eyes last week on a that red lindy darter between 730 am and 830am on a friday morning trip. buckshot rattlers are very goog. also try some of the stinger spoons, they seem to be pretty deadly for me.

Thanks for all the suggestions guys, I picked up a few things from bargain cave, some 3/8 slick jigs in glow green and glow red and a lindy darty in dace which closest matches the main forage of the lake I fish which is alewives. I know the darter has an alewive color and will pick some of those up next year when I mainly focus on walleyes. Got the one I did get at a good deal though. Gonna try next week hard for my first eye through the ice. So hard with soo much bait in the water. We shall see. I'll let you guys know what I find.
