Is The road in to the campground area plowed in winter? And is the lake still over run by perch?

Black speckled perch.  Caught and released over 300 one August day in 2018.  Perch we kept were fine once we removed the cysts in the flesh.

Seems crazy that this lake is closed to fishing in April. Not like you'd ever be able to put a dent in that population of perch.

One would think so, but it's not listed in the guide as one of the trout lakes that is open all year. I've inquired about the reasoning and it's due to the perch.

correct, any stocked trout lake that also contains native fish closes end of march.  zeden doesn't make much sense as i assume they'd want the perch out of there.

I have a friend for works for Sask Environment and he asked one of the fishery biologists about Zeden. The perch were illegally planted there. But since there is a healthy population of perch and people are still catching trout they don't have any intention of trying to remove the perch.

Are you heading that way for trout or are you wanting to go after the perch in Zeden?

I would like to meet one of those people who caught a trout in Zeden. I might have lunch with Bigfoot before then.
