Good panfish along HWY 53
« on: Jan 10, 2009, 11:00 AM »
Hey guys I might be going up to Duluth along HWY 53 from the Bloomer Area. Can anyone recommend a good lake right off the highway? Looking for panfish. Mostly perch but crappie and gills are welcome too :)

I know long lake and Bear lake a pretty good for every thing bear lake is about 10 min west off 53 at haugen and long lake is east  off highway B around sarona for about 15 to 20 min both well worth the trip... both have great bluegill, northern, crappie, and walleye populations. and thats about as far north as i go.
A good finesse bass fisherman, makes a good walleye fisherman
