Your favorite jig rod
« on: Jan 23, 2016, 06:40 AM »
I'm looking at picking up a decent jig rod. I'd like another Jase, but don't have the funds and they're so busy that I wouldn't have it for this season. I prefer longer jig rods in the 40" + range. I've been looking at the Jason Mitchell Meat Stick 48" medium action. It's in the $30 price range.
Looking for opinions on other jig rods. What's your go to rod? What ones have you been considering buying?

clam mackinaw looks good. i went to bass pro due to having to buy a new rod, they have a ok med/ heavy rod there  for 20 bucks.  also bought a berkley ice rod from village variety in hillsboro for 19 bucks. the berkley is a 3 footer but the bass pro is a size you're looking for. if i buy another, I'd get the clam mackinaw 42" rod. I want power and sensitivity.

X2 on the Ugly Sticks. They are sensitive and indestructible.

I bought an ultra light white out combo from 13 fishing. It's awesome for panfishing you feel every little hit and the reel is super smooth. Paid 60 for it online somewhere..... Only fault I wish the last guide was a little bigger.
