You know it is windy when...

one of your tip-ups rises out of the whole and goes screaming down the ice.

Winnisquam AM report - 1 laker and lots of wind. Was surprised that it was not slushy and soupy though. Many, many, layers to the snow / ice though.

How about when you are "going down wind" and then the wind changes, blowing it back onto your boot, only to turn again down wind and have the same thing happen again. Talk about doing donuts!  ;D

dd, I use waterproof boots so all is good there.  ;D

 just have to watch out of the gusts that go in the other direction.  :o

At my age, I need to wear Gor-Tex pants! LOL....I am only 29 but the "at my age" sounded so good!

LOL, that story reminds me of one my buddy tells me of when he was young, one time while ice fishing he peed all over his boots because his feet were so cold!

your so busy chasing wind flags you cant even enjoy your beer. this past w/e had to be one of the worst days on the ice. all for one 6 inch yellow perch.
