Hauser/Holter Trip
« on: Dec 04, 2017, 03:20 PM »
Looking for information on accommodations for a Hauser/Holter trip in January. Going with camping gear, but somewhere with a shower close by would be preferable.  Interested in campgrounds, RV parks, pastures, cheap hotels or otherwise, much appreciated...

Right by the marina is a camp ground, but hook-ups are shut off in the winter.  They have Bathrooms open in the winter, but as for showers.....closest (as far as I know) would be one of the motels in Wolf Creek.  Could always warm up water on a stove and put that in a solar shower.?.?.?

If we dont get some ice fairly soon, you can always take a swim. lol. I think wolf creek is going to be the closest with bathrooms and such.

Anyone have any experience with Wolf Creek accommodations? Anywhere that caters to smelly fisherman with trailers full of atv's and equipment making piles of filleted perch carcasses? I'd love to find some accommodations similar to the rentals at Canyon Ferry Marina...

Call Headhunters fly shop in Craig. Not far from Wolf Creek. They have lodging in Wolf Creek and Craig and they are used to fishermen. 406-235-3447
This is a fly shop but they have some ice fishermen working every now and then.

Give Wolf Creek Angler a call, they have some great lodging options.

Headhunters in Craig is another great option.

I’ve used both shops for lodging, and they are great. Staying in Craig is fun, easy walk from the Brown and Rainbow cabins to Joe’s bar. No kitchens in those particular cabins (mini fridge, coffee pot and microwave though). Rates are 125 a night, and they sleep 3. Wolf Creek angler has “bungalows” they rent out for about $100 a night if I remember correctly, and they do have kitchens. Can’t go wrong with either, give them a call, both shops are extremely helpful
