It has been yrs since I made mine. Actually had to look to remember how to MAKE a rattle reel. Take two empty fishing line spools, one lg and one narrow. Cut both sides off the narrow one. Using sm bells that are clipped on the end of fishing rods for night fishing place two bells inside open side of lg spool. Super glue sides to either side of the lg spool . Drill quarter inch hole thru center. Take quarter in bolt, flat washer, spool, another flat washer,1x4x2ft long, drill quarter in hole 6 inches from top. Bolt to 1x4 with flat washer and wing nut. Wing nut allows for tightness adjustment. I place 1x4 in slush and snow along side of hole and it works fine. Most of what you need to make it can be picked up at flea markets for next to nothing.
