I fished the lake last Sunday afternoon, not much action, a perch and three bass, but the ice ranged from 4-7", good black ice.

I stopped and talked to a fella last week that was fishing behind that little mech shop and he said the "guy" that owns all the back stopped giving permission --I was under the assumption that it was 100% private

I fished it last year once with no problems, didn't do so good their. But maybe your not allowed to fish it anymore. That may be true.......

its a public lake.....but that lake is either on or off no in between!

Most lakes are like that "on or off" .

I recently moved to Olyphant, but have only driven by this lake a couple times and not recently. Whereabouts is the parking/access???

Any other info on this lake??? Depth range??? What species thrive in this lake???

we always parked a jw's eatery and and walked in by the garage.....theres perch,blue gills , bass ,pickeral, crappie the normal pond fish lol

I've fished it for 33 years, countless times, and no one has ever asked me to leave. Just be mindful and respectful of the surrounding properties and take out what you bring in. As for depth, it contains some 20ft holes, but mostly ranges 5-13ft. The panfish have really come back in size recently, bluegills, calico, and perch. Just keep moving if you go, keep your jigging presentations between 1/16-1/8oz and tip with mousies, and or gulp maggots-good luck.

it used to be really good for big perch and blue gillls...but then it started getting over fished....i havent done well there on at least 4 yrs. havent fished it recently cuz it was such poor fishing... how are you guys making out?(the ones that fish it)

A few years back it was a good lake. Your correct with the over fishing quote in your post. I seen buckets of panfish come out of their in year's past. Just too small of a lake for that to happen without any impact... I haven't done well their in some time....

I have done well at the state park in the past also, just have trouble finding quality fish........

we have been slaughtering the bluegills....we brought 80 big bluegills home in 2 days....youll catch some big ones and then you will get some small ones and then they will leave and the big ones wil come in again...we got all 80 in the same 2 holes each day.

Good, LSP needs a great amount of panfish taken out. LSP is one lake in the area that needs to have a panfish reduction. The lake is over run with average size panfish, they need to be thinned some.

i took roughly 140 in 4 days...its a start..lol but if everyone took that much they wouldnt be able to reproduce fast enough
