Merry Christmas every one. Also happy birthday Andrew.  When the wind dies down and the snow stops, we are looking good to go just about everywhere.

Satellite shot from earlier today...Oneida is lower right, roughly 3/4 covered with ice. Looks like open water nw-se from Constantia to Bridgeport. Pretty good lake effect snowband for Pulaski!

it took me an hour of digging threw drawers but I found my notes from that season, I stand corrected, your right, and I was wrong... you got me 2 straight, that makes three actually, remember that day you fished inside of me and fred at constancia?

At my house 3 miles north of oneida we got a inch of snow.  Leaving in a few minutes I would be very surprised to see any water open anywhere.   It's go time this weekend.  I have to work Saturday so either sat afternoon or Sunday first light it's gonna be long over due relaxing smashing a few of them big eyed beautiful creatures.

Freddy I don't mind the snow but I really want this lake to set up and get some girth before the snow dumps on it.  But I'm not missing it either lol.

I try to forget about that day I fished between You and the ol buzzard outta Constantia... I had to count by 3’s to feel good about myself!!! And, I still couldn’t keep up!! 😜 I grabbed a limit though. That was an insane bite that day. Sightfishing suspended walleye under the ice down 6-8’!!  😁

Come on KP it wasn’t that bad , you had a good day , I learned a lot about eyes that day watching them    😉
And speaking of counting by 3s
   I started counting by 3s in 1991🤪

Yes, fun day!! I learned that those eyes don’t always eat the bait when you feel a bump. I watched them nudge it with their nose and back up. When I would jig it, they would inhale it. 😈

Sight fishing is a riot! Picked up a Kenai stealth last year for that reason. It gets dark in there if you need it.

Pretty ugly pressure crack too, about 100 yds or so Oneida1. That crack goes east and west for quite a ways.

I recently saw a video of a new snowmobile produced in Russia, designed for ice fishing, working maple syrup lines, farming, etc. They're being distributed out of Minnesota and I think currently there are two NY dealers locally. One in the Rochester area the other in Boonville. I know made in Russia, and I in my 50 plus yrs fishing Oneida have had plenty of sleds, my old Tundras being the best, bar none. But this sled needs a serious look. It's called the " Irbis T- 150. Four stroke 10 hp hitch, rack, under seat storage etc. I think it would pull any trap sm shanty and allow a lot of older fisherman mobility. The price is $2495. You fellas take a look , it's hard to find a good used sled these days for that price,  most are hot rods with too short of a track and lousy clutching. Hope this helps .

trying to post a photo

Well I got to try out my "new", hardly used 2 man Nanook yesterday afternoon. Just bought it from a neighbor for $200 bucks.
Lot's of room to fish and move around with 6 windows for plenty of light. Only had 1 ice anchor, so it was challenging whenever I was not seated due to the damn wind that never let up.
I removed 1 seat to add a little more storage room.  the tub is very shallow compared to my old Kenai., but I was able to fit all my gear in. Need to get used to those pole push in adjuster buttons ...a bit of a pain, but overall I really enjoyed fishing out of it. Someday I will get that Otter Thermal...maybe 2020
BTW, fishing was slow, 1 keeper perch, a few dinks and 1 keeper bass. Next trip Oneida ! ...can't wait!
My boots on some ice... A line down a hole...Some fish on the screen... And a flag in the air !......Winter is Good !!
