Think there was talk on here about the Striker jackets a while back. Gander has them crazy cheap right now. Climate for $160, Hardwater for $140, Predator $130

15 degrees and stiff wind. Lake tightened up still some wet spots east of Lewis, not sure about the ice I personally don't feel confident but did see a few guys to the west of the point.

Found this from jpd949 on the Oneida Lake topic under the New York State conditions .

Fished Sylvan beach on Monday..Foot of ice everywhere I drilled and I walked about a half mile out to 25 ft water. All good black ice. Got 1 keeper walleye and about 20 big fat slob perch from 11-14 inches...Full of eggs.

nothing personal, but I fished the beach tuesday and today and didn't find any ice that was 12".......where I was (23 ft.) the ice was 6" max.....it was good solid ice mind you but I spudded my way out for safety's sake....there is a massive field of shove ice at the 16 fow range and beyond.....nothing that can't be traversed but with  this report there will be a bombardment of machines........lets use our heads folks....I know it has been a lousy ice season so far but lets let calmer heads prevail.......the beach hasn't been fully explored yet so error on the side of caution.....only a handful of guys have been out.....fishing is ok by the way....now eyes for me but a few nice perch....would think the weekend will be crowded for sure

The ice on the East end can move very quickly if the winds change in the wrong direction.   The ice is thin this year and open or gone in large areas down the lake.  The ice can easily move around.  We found ourselves on the wrong side of a wide open crack one year when the ice shoved across the lake down from where we were fishing.  We also found our shore ice gone another year when the ice moved out and we had to skim our sled over open water to get in.   So when the shore ice is bad and not locked tight you can think your OK until the unthinkable happens.  Been there, done that not fun.  Don't get false  security.

Open water from Constantia to Williard Island and beyond a ways east. Heard guys were off Lewis point today and last night. Same report as scout about the beach. No ice is safe ice!! Use a spud and common sense...😎

Thanks to all for the reports on the east end.  I am hoping to get out of work early and try for some walleye this afternoon.

Just spoke to a fisherman that was out to Lewis, said ice was 8"-12" east of the point and lots of guys out. Wondering if anyone has been out to Edgewater and what the conditions were.

There will be fishable ice next weekend. The forecast looks okay so we shouldn't lose any ice.

It's going to snow pretty good so we won't gain any ice either.

Ya got to let him know where the fishable ice is now.   If he looks in the wrong spot next weekend and goes through OMG.

The ice changes in every direction out there right now. Yesterday I made multiple moves and found variations in ice thickness and hardness. I would only hope the ice is fishable for everyone from now till last ice, but, I'm not going to make predictions. It's been a strange winter for making good solid ice. Be safe and spud, spud, spud!!!
