My apologies.
« on: Dec 26, 2015, 09:10 AM »
I want to extend my apologies for cursing spearing season. I believe the fact that I picked up a new spear house and ice saw caused the lack of ice in Minnesota. This sight sure has been dead lately.

You must be close to some ice?

I know a few were venturing out on Mille Lacs Isle/Twin Bay/ Wahkon and Cove Bay to name a few. Needless to say sketchy at best, but it won't be long.

I thought it was global warming.  Now I know the truth.
I was planning to put the shack out today but it is snowing pretty hard,  maybe tomorrow.

I've been out 5 times since the 18th of Dec. There's been a good 3-4" everywhere I've gone out from McGregor to just recently Cambridge area. It's been easy cutting and the pike have been hungry, I've stabbed 7 so far.

Yea, we are starting to get ice finally. Haven't ventured out yet though. Southlong is kinda my homelake and it just froze over completely the other day.

one of the lakes by me has 5 inches of ice now and if all works out I hope to try spearing it on Thursday morning. if the northern don't want to play I can always chase the crappies on this same lake. they are willing to play but not until after dark.
