« on: Dec 15, 2009, 02:46 PM »
Ok guys, Im from Alberta and am looking for some big perch, im talking like 13 inchers.  I am planning a trip stateside and want your honest opinions.  Should I go to Devils Lake NorthDakota or the glacial lakes area by Webster South Dakota?

Devils would be the obvious pick, but there are other lakes in that region that are less-known but just as productive.

If you knew the Glacial Lakes area in SD, Devils wouldnt be the obvious pick.  The year classes there at DL do not average the big jumbo 13's they did a few years ago but they are still nice...and the glacial lakes area has several lakes that can consistantly put out those big 13 inch humpies.

Got your pm, you have one back.

I realize that both lakes are hit and miss and thats fishing.  We do have jumbos in some lakes up here but they are getting further and further a thing of the past.  I think that either devils or the webster area would be our best shot at hitting some jumbos, well at least more consistent than what we get up here.  A good day to us would be to be on fish pretty much all day, meaning no 4 or 5 hour stretch between bites, although we are used to that when fishing for walleyes and such.  Even if we managed to only get 4 or 5 over 11 inches we would be a happy crew.  Mainly I have a spot in my house that is perfect for a habitat scene with 2 or 3 jumbos in it lol. This would be more of a guy getaway for us.  that being said we are all hardcore fishers and not so much partyers.
