Upper was 8" thick at the west end. Lower had lots of flood water and no one on ice. That was 2-weeks ago. Dont know where it stands now!

7 inches of black ice at Mcgregor Lake near the bay at middle portion of the lake. There was open water near the shore in one or two spots though and big patches of bad ice. Caught a walleye and one pike though!
Fished 3 times in last 10 days at McGregor. 13" of black ice at Milo end. Few anglers fishing and none driving. Caught 2 pikes altogether and a couple of bites. Some drift at this end. Also tried my luck at the middle from boat launch all the way to other end with 9 holes, no luck. Sonar couldn't find anything moving either.

15" of SOFT ice at Lac la Nonne.  People are driving on, but I would think twice (and I was in a 1995 Toyota Corolla).  Most people were on quads and side by sides.  The ice was making some very eerie and unfamiliar noises today.  Not what i am used to hearing.

Anyone have an ice report for north of Athabasca?  Heading up there this weekend and hoping to hit up Calling or Rock Island Lake and wondering how the ice is and if I will be walking or driving on.

Thanks
Brad

Dolber was thick.  Drove the truck out to the center where Ice was about 20".  Managed a rainbow too.  All in all was a first day on the ice this season.

I have been out to Doberg many times over the years and that lake has my number.  I get skunked every time..... I can be 4 ft from a buddy sharing a tent, using the same lure and bait.  I get to watch him catch his limit and I go home skunked again and again. The worst thing about getting skunked and watching someone else slay is that i keep going back for more punishment, thinking my luck is bound to change.

Keep the ice updates coming all. Thanks!

Oh those days without wind are my favorite. Seems they are few and far between in the ice.

Drilled through 18 inches of ice about 20 yards from shore at Crawling Valley. Only 10 inches of ice at Blood Indian Creek Res. Good enough to drive on. Great ice, solid all the way through. Blood indian has thick hard packed snow cover. Just a bit more insulated. Happy to get out for the first time in a year!!!

Was at Whitefish Lake on the weekend.  Super cold.  not much fishing done and zero caught.  Ice was about 15" thick.
Just remember the worst day of fishing is still better than the best day at work!

Goose and Mosquito Lake were up around 18", Snipe was about 22", and had a friend in at Orloff and Rock Island, says it was about 24".
Wabamun has about 24" of ice everywhere i was fishing, but it was hard getting around even in 4x4 with all the snow (at least where i was).

There was a solid foot where I was, clear and hard all the way - couldn't really notice any impact on it from the warm weather.
