I heard calling lake had 16-18 inches of ice as of New Years Day. There was also little or no snow on the lake, so bring ice cleats.

Thanks for the int burbotman14!

Thanks boss! I haven't been there in a few weeks, I guess we need more cold to get it to be drivable.

About 20" on Whitefish Lake on the 21st.  A huge North-South pressure ridge out there almost down the middle of the lake.  I just plain stayed away from it.  Fishing extremely slow.  Managed 1 whitefish for 9 guys on Sat.

Ice at pine coulee reservoir was 13-14 inches. Caught 5 walleye and 1 burbot but didn't stick around for the evening bite.

Ice at gull lake was a good 17-19 inches where I was. Also 1-4 inches of snow across the whole lake so you can drive anywhere.

Any current update on how much ice is on Cold Lake? Are vehicles driving on yet? If so from where?

So if anyone is fishing at Ghost lake these days... what are the thoughts on that pressure ridge/split to the right of the boat launch. Been a couple weeks since I been there but there was some water showing out of it ( even tho the ice was 18" or so ).

still.. what are the experienced folks sayin about it?

i will also be there with my adult children, my sister and my cousin  and his 2 children ( 8/10) on sunday. look for the blue clam basecamp. we'll go on at the southern part of the lake going on near hwy 144a.
Ice in that part of the word lately has been about 12". I doubt i will be driving on. many of these people will be experiencing ice fishing for the first time.

I would sure appreciate if anyone who has any more info about the lake conditions to post them.
Thanks all

At gull lake Wilson's beach access and paths were chewed up pretty bad but there was still almost 2 feet of ice to drive on.

Has anyone checked the ice thickness on any pot hole lake lately? And along the shore line on Pigeon or Gull?? ::)
Fishing is an attitude especially when you have a 112 lb. halibut at the other end of the line two hundred feet down!

There was never a fish hatched I couldn't outsmart.

On AO there is someone already fishing the bays like Itaska.   It also sounds like it might be completely frozen over.

6" of ice on the south side Buffalo Lake with some slush on top, but there were a few spots that were under 4". There were a few people driving half-ton's on the lake. ???
A bad day of fishing beats anything else I'd be doing today.....
