Minocqua area ice fishing
« on: Dec 17, 2020, 11:45 PM »
It seems like a lot of Indiana folks are on the Wisconsin board asking for advice so I thought I would too.  I am planning to travel 6 hrs to Minocqua to fish the first week of January.  I have been coming up every year in the spring for 15 years and have only fished Squirrel Lake because thats where we stay.  I am staying in a hotel in Minocqua.  I am looking for another lake that has good crappie and gills. I will have to walk on the ice and access from boat launches.  I getting up in age and cant pull the sled as far as I used to.  I will be by myself so a well know public spot is ok too.  I might have access to a 4 wheeler that belongs to my nephew if I fix the trailer, bearings, tires, and lights.  Not sure if its worth all of that.  Any advice is appreciated.  You can PM if you like.  I sure love the Northwoods and cant wait to see it in the winter.  Thanks
