Title: Tangles while hand-lining
Post by: Jim_MI on Dec 18, 2014, 08:10 AM
I love my Marmish rod and want to get a few more.  My only problem is keeping the line from tangling when hand-lining it in, especially in a flipover.  No problem on warm days when I can be outdoors and just toss the rod away from the hole, but no-can-do in a shack.  I have been using 2# Northland Bionic Ice line, but this is pretty pliable and "attracts" knot formation when loops adhere while lowering the jig back down.  Any suggestions?

Any thoughts on mono vs braid as far as tangles goes? I need to restring anyway.

Strictly inline & spinning here. I know some enjoy the Marmish rods but handlining?  No thx. Hard enough on tip ups...
