2010 Fishing Regulations
« on: Dec 28, 2009, 06:04 PM »
Heard rumor that we were gonna have to release all walleyes under 16" on Ocean Lake, but I don't see any change in the new regs.  I was starting to wonder.  I love eatin those little eyes, besides the fishery seems to be doing ok anyway.  Looks like they added a few lakes under special ice fishing. Deaver and Harrington??  Other than that, I don't see many changes!!! LPS

I breifly read the regs for that area and did not see anything about walleye for ocean.  but I could have always missed it cause I just skimmed it.

I do know Glendo changed to 15" and smaller are releases back.

I think that the reg states you must release any fish under 15". that makes one that is exactly 15" a keeper if you choose. Please correct me if I'm wrong.
No jet skiers, no bugs...how can you not like ice fishing??

The quote is as follows,"All walleye less than 15 inches shall be released to the water immediately." (That's on Glendo)  What was it before, I don't fish there?

special ice fishing provisions allow up to 6 lines, but you need to be within 300 yards and each one has to have your name must be attached to each.

***EDITED***

I should say that this is only on special waters listed under this provision in the regulation handbook.

I am really surprized at how no one/most don't really reads the regulations, OR they just can't read.   Knowing a ticket can be involved, and potentially one's fishing privilages, I for one read the regs and comprehend them.

Good luck on the ice with the warden!

I agree, I read the regulations for what ever water I am fishing on.  Since moving around the country a good number of times it really makes it more clear as how different states manage the fish and game.

Alot of people think ignorance is an excuse. Anymore each body of water be it a stream or lake has a different set of rules that apply. I not only read the regs I have one in the truck, the boat, and the ice house mostly cause I  cant remember the limits and lengths for all the waters I fish.

Yes I agree I thought I had read and understood most of the hunting regs myself and I got a lesson from 13 year old this year of a few things (ever so minor) I was doing wrong? After that I went back through the fishing and hunting regs! If I would have been caught I would have been  :'( the blues....

I seem to have a  question on the regs, page 25, #10 Flaming Gorge....I see the part that says Flaming Gorge, then I scroll down and see the word "salmon" and then on to the lake trout paragraph.  Is there something missing, like how many rainbows, or  something else missing?
Also, is the special ice fishing regs somewhere else or is it missing?
Please PM me with some help.

by me reading and understanding the regs, your allowed 4 trout in any combination, excluding lakers

as for the salmon it got put on the next page, but I highlighted the whole sentence relaiting to Kokanee salmon on the Gorge.
