First I want to send my deepest condolences. I too lost my hero that gave me the gift of the outdoors. He landed on Omaha beach on d day. But what I get is he is still teaching me even though he is not here. You to will still learn from a philosophy that he taught you that no one can take. Godspeed.

Jigger, you never lose a hero. You perpetuate your grandfather and do it well. I hope there is someone to do the same for you, and am betting there is. Nonetheless, loss is tough. Sorry for that, but glad to know you will always be able to feel as you do about your hero.

my grandfather was an avid fisherman and hunter as well.  my mom used to tell me that that i got my passion for outdoors from him.  only got to fish with him once when i was young.  he died before i got old enough to really get out with him, so your lucky to have the memories.  sorry for your loss!
