JIGGING RAP???

I lost my share of eyes when the front hook of my rap catches the bottom of the ice.I did a lil experiment I cut the front hook off and tried it in a bucket looked like a similar action. Anyway do you think it throws the action off with front hook off?

It won't throw off the action. Years ago my dad would cut the front and back hooks off. It worked fine. I would say close to half of my eyes are hooked on the front or back hook though...

I would drill a bigger hole!

Have seen a few of the old In Fisherman Ice fishing shows where they said they do just that with most of their jigging raps

I have clipped the end hooks off mine for 20 years...those things are way too heavy for the hooks on or off to make a difference

Like the rest said "cut r off"!!! Lol worst thing that could happen is u dont like it for some reason

I know guys that cut them off and replace the center treble with a single hook...I don't know if I would feel comfortable with that. Too many variables for the margin of error!!

I used to replace the center hook with a larger treble. Then rapala started putting bigger hooks on them. Problem solved!
