I was just going off the information above. There’s no listed owner on that parcel on the huntin app I use. Can see both neighboring properties owners but that sliver up for debate has no information.

And like I said early never fished big bay or any part of the lake, just trying to add value. Someday I’ll fish Oneida. Someday...

And the tax map provided doesn’t have a SBL number to it. Seems public to me, just like the roads

DEC and the town of West Monroe   both have confirmed it is the town of West Monroe's property.... ownership has never been the issue ,the issue is the man dug it out stacked rocks concreted them in now it's a 6 foot cliff you need to climb to get down..... someone will get hurt on this ...bad

There is also another section on the tax map without a tax no. between 293.20-02-02 and 293.20-02-04.  Is this an access to Big Bay?  And to further ask my question the parcel 307.08-02-25 is owned by Town of West Monroe on the tax map is this an access to Big Bay?

I hope they make him take it down piece by piece in the middle of the polar vortex.

Yeah. Where I am is never the first to get good ice. I always have to travel a bit for my first few trips of the season. Either south, east or west.

The good news is the skim held. Shot going the other way.

I called and spoke at length about the Big Bay access with the West Monroe Town Clerk. She has referred me over to the Town Assessor. I urge everyone who has a concern with this to do the same. She is very nice and has been thoroughly briefed on the issue. That is a very small office and a couple dozen phone call about the same issue would help ensure a prompt response. Please consider giving them a call.

As far as the wall requiring a permit, the landowner would'nt need one unless the wall was 6' or more. If the wall wasn't built on the owners property, then that is obviously a violation.

The major question is whether or not that 10' easement is a public easement. It may, as I was told, be just for drainage. I can assure you that I will have an answer in the near future. I can also assure you that I will be making a formal complaint about the placement of the new structure as soon as I have all of the facts.

Again, the best way to get a quick response, even if its not the one we're hoping for, is for everyone to do their part. If you want to fish over there and help keep everyone safe, pick up the phone and call the West Monroe Town Clerk (315) 676-3521. Thanks.

i called the number  talked to the town clerk , very nice lady , if you fish big bay and interested in access please  call this number  she will  be reporting this to the town super.

The main lake is not ready yet, not for me anyway. I checked a couple spots on the south side yesterday it was pretty sketchy.

One more single digit night would have gone a long way.

The forecasts are trending colder. Looks like later next week it gets cold.

You can call the DEC office in Cortland,  they will confirm that it is indeed public access.  They may ne able to help with the boulders if it is safety hazard.

I've seen people access from that property.  The problem with that access point is parking.  No street parking allowed so you either have to get dropped off or know someone that lives nearby where you can park your car.

Went out to the lake yesterday and it was frozen as far as I can see, no one was on the ice, only walked out about 50 yds didn't have my gear or a spud. May be ready soon if we get a cold spell pic from Sylvan Beach, NY
