Where did the OG’s go??

Looks like some of the members on this site that have contributed greatly in the past years and who truly have the most knowledge are slowly starting to part ways, this site has made me a better angler and a better outdoorsman from the knowledge passed on. We are all on this site for a reason and it’s because we all are a different breed of men and women who are chasing the same passion. unfortunately people like us are dying off and I hate to see it. I’m 25 and can’t imagine my life without fishing or hunting, this is what I live for. Every year it seems like the site gets worse and worse from previous years. I know I’ve read some killer threads from the old timers and still read them every year. This year I’m making it my mission to post all my outings, good or bad and I challenge everyone else to do the same, this is how we grow as anglers and learn and also teach others that are interested.  Obviously not giving away honey holes or giving Ice conditions but share what bait has been working at what depths, time of day,gear to get started and different techniques. This year id like to get together for some outings and meet y'all in person. Let’s make ice shanty great again!

There will be more ppl posting w/ more ice - maybe after Jan 1st?

I haven't even been out scouting yet (which is late for me)....planning on doing some driving after the 1st.

After New Year's, I'm hoping to have plenty to report (including some underwater video if I can figure out the camera part, lol).   :tipup:

I'm still here. Been renovating a bathroom. Ice hasn't been reliable yet. Been busier than usual will be scouting soon. Not sure how the season will.shape up. We need some cold.

I am also on FB and IG, but you do not break relationships that exist elsewhere unless you are simply a user. There are folks on here who do not have social media. As i consider them friends, i stay in touch on here or via text message. No social media will ruin that for me.

I agree, too many people are soft these days and run and cry. If I offend you, good! Thats what makes us all unique is not agreeing on everything. Sometimes, people need to grow a pair and stand their ground. If you don't like a picture, dont look at it. If you dont like a song, change the station, don't b***h about it.

I think I’m pushing close to 20 years on the shanty. I rarely post trips anymore. Lots of members are great contacts when it comes to parking, conditions, etc. However, it took time to build those relationships. I’m always willing to help but will only share info through personal message. I do like to give my opinion on gear and I think it helps others with purchasing . Of course my favorite part is the Strictly Business Highlight Reel at the end of the season. I do miss reading the Newfound circus stuff. Jiggin had some amazing adventures. If on Facebook we do have the Strictly Business Ice Fishing page . Best of luck and be smart! I found a few places with safe ice but this weather isn’t helping 😎

Been working on new bath and new hall closet. With NO ice, i have been working on customizing my fishing kayak.
We are also busy training our young lab mix
Looking forward to jigging up some crappie, white and yellow perch

Just bought a new Vex 28 and have almost worn out the demo mode in my workshop lol. We’ve got about .25” in my cove on winni. So depressing.

Still happy with my Vex 20.  Chased perch on to north country ponds.  Ice is good and making more for the coming week.
