Title: Derby shack is out.
Post by: SALMONEMIA on Jan 21, 2023, 08:21 PM: Saw derby headquarters shack today. All open water behind it. No Bob house village this year. Center had some ice but was open water and full chop beyond the 1st point. Saw a hardside on a smaller lake. Ice to be had just have to scout.

Power glitched once here Frank…I’m surprised it hasn’t gone out because my big pines branches are touching the ground! The night is still young though! 😂 Not going to go out and blow it tonight…getting windy as hell. It can wait until morning…

Generator keeps needed lights, heat, fridge and well on... so really nothing to complain about.

Clean-up blew a potential fishing day.... which is probably the worst of it, maybe tomorrow.

I have a couple small trees down in the back yard, will need to break out the chainsaw.

Wind and sun has removed most of the snow from the trees.

I got so sick of dealing with the trees each winter I finally had enough 2 summers ago and I dropped 72 trees in the yard so now nothing can touch my house or shop or wires if anymore go down. What a project though. Just finally got around to Stumping this past fall.

I wouldn't have to do quite that many but I would have to take out a few neighbor's trees to completely isolate the house/wires. After this storm however I do have a few tagged for the chipper this spring/summer.

Power back... not a bad 26 hours.

Everything was white when I went to work, now its crap browbeat least I didnt loose any trees or branches, wind cranked here..
