Yellowtail, been good at the locks all winter but only on the west side where the boats come through. Fish along the wall no more than 8 feet from it or in front of the middle island. Jig and saltie should catch a pile of sauger. As temps. get up there this area will become dangerous quite quicky so us caution. We caught hundreds of sauger there this past few months! Don't forget to keep a couple of nice ones for the table as good eating from cold water. Limit is 4 though. Firefighter

water's open below the dam all winter. Never go near there. We fish the lock on the west side. Tree feet of ice there last week. Should be good till it gets warm but ALWAYS use caution when fishing areas with moving water.

There is way more open water there now, even closer to the wall where everyone fishes, i wouldnt bring kids or anything like that anymore thats for sure. You can see from the bridge and then you can judge from there if you wish to go on.

Good report Steve, have not been there since the weekend. Couple of my pals fished the Locks Monday and conitions were still good.  After a few warm days though, Lockport is always the first place to come appart.  Firefighter
