Creston ice fisherman? Catching anything Bill?
« on: Dec 30, 2009, 05:03 PM »
Just wondering how the bite is down there at three mile and twelve mile?  Going to work my way down there soon and try to freeze my toes off.   Is there any ice fishing tourneys down there?

Fished 12 mile Wednesday, got a few 10-13 bass using a chubby darter. Things have been slow, haven't been to 3 mile or any ponds yet.  Fogle lake by Diagonal had a tourney last year, don't know if they will this year?

Hey Bill hope you make it up for the lake manaswamp fishing tourney.  If the fish don't bite at least we'll be fat and happy.  My wife bought me a smoker for christmas and I've been smoking everything.  My ribs are pretty darn good.  I'm doing up some pork butts tuesday for the Iowa game.  Going to shred em and make some amazing pulled pork sandwiches.

we got on 12 mile and did reasonably well considering the cold

we did get into a nice bunch of them famous 12 mile pigillas and a few walleyes at dark

no crappies but that was pry more of a location issue

we sure didnt get out and drill a 100 holes and get busy fishing as i normally like to do as it WAS COOOLLLLLLDDDDD

seems the bowl games and severe cold kept most of the boys at home as we pretty well owned the lake

this lake is awesome

get you some pilkkiiis and some wax worms from the pier and tie into some pigilllas your self

Sonman,  I plan on coming to Lake Manawa Tourney with your dad, will be in need of a gas auger with the ice growing the way it is.  Was up north by Sioux City this weekend, -20s so did not fish with brother Hank when I was there.  Hope to fish again soon, got a good pond to try just south of Creston.  We could take a road trip up to northern Minn., my sister is up on Lake Kabekona it was -37 up there Sat. morning.
