With the cold temps this weekend, I thought it was a good opportunity to test out the new ION G2 10” auger and see if I could drill 1200” of ice as claimed by ION. It was approx -5 so not extreme temps, but definitely cold. I had to take a couple of breaks during the test to warm my fingers and my GoPro.
I measured 20” of ice and I was very pleased with the final results! This thing has a lot of torque and will become my primary auger for my trips that require a 10" auger. The composite bit is SO light, it’s only 5.5lbs.
I put up a full test video on YouTube which I'm sure you can find with a search.
