Underwater viewing systems

Guys,

Have I married an ice queen or what? The better half is INSISTING that we acquire an underwater viewing system
(christ, this is better than sex). I only knew about the Aqua-View but learned that there are other systems. How's about
everyone helping me decide which system will help the wife make me happy. Tell me about your units.

i made one myself and it works just as well as the atlantis my buddy has.  they are both hard to see in the daytime.  you have to either make a viewing tube, or put a jacket over your head and the screen to block the glare.  with the one i have it is a color camera and i can hook it to any tv.  it can also be hooked to a video camera/vcr making it possible to record.  it does work excellent in the shanty.  makes it alot more fun to fish when they arent biting.  i had fun just watching my bait.  well if you would like to know any more specific info, email me.

I dont know a whole lot about the other underwater viewing systems, but I do know quite a bit about the Aqua-Vu's...

I do know this however, all other underwater viewing systems use a monitor, while Aqua-vu uses a projection screen.  By using the projection screen Aqua Vu is about to seal there to make it water resistant.  I have dropped mine in 2 feet of water and then pulled it out to have it work just fine.  I would think that a monitor would survive a dunking... And on the ice I know there is a lot of oppertunity for getting it wet...

They are a ton of  fun... and there are quite a few different models to choose from, pick the one that has the bells and whistles that you would like!

Best of luck!

I never have the time or gumption to make stuff like this myself.

Build your own underwater camera:

I made my own last year and it worked but it was quite cumbersome.  It hooked up to my boat battery which really sucked when I wanted to lug it on the ice.  It did give me the bug to get a new one though.  I just got my aqua vu and love it all ready. There is a video out port for taking image to camcorder or other tv.

I have a question for those who already have an aqua vu.  Are there any of the accessories that really help during ice fishing?  thanks.

I've used an Aqua-Vu for several years now and love it ;D I started with the MC2X but now have the DT120. I use it in fresh as well as salt water and have no complaints. The quality even in the darkest water is excellent. I've got some clips I've taken loaded on my website, check them out and enjoy ;D click on the link below
