My friend went there the first week of Jan.  The campground told him they were not allowing access anymore, he was on foot.  That is how I went in years ago. He hiked in on some trail not too far from there he said.  Good luck.

if the snows not too deep, the dam access road going in, across little dan on the way out.  only good thing about it is that theres no need to walk much further than the dam area
