Being a river, obviously there could be any number of things cruising through. I went there with a friend one time targeting pike, so there's that. I caught the world's smallest one, so don't break my record. ;)

You never know what you will catch that is what makes it such a challenge. Rumor has it Jimmy Hoffa is down below in one of them. Just be careful a river will change even the setbacks it is not like a lake or pond. If you go in the flow is your enemy even in a setback.

2x on the pike
Like MM said be extra careful of the conditions.   Water level changes add challenges. You can find the edges dry and then very wet as water levels change.

+Yellow perch

I’ve also caught mud puppies.  I don’t recommend it. They get angry.

Some of the setbacks we fish we have caught Pike, Yellow Perch, Pumpkinseed, Bluegill, Walleye, brown bullhead, Golden Shiners, and once in a while a mud puppy.

When you go past the first highway bridge on the Vermont side, you will need a Vermont fishing license.

Safety note. I have seen people use a  rope tied to their belt and the other end to a cleat in the ice. This was on the Saint Lawrence
